IIT-JEE 2017 Exam Details

IIT-JEE (Indian Institute of Technology –Joint Entrance Exam) is the Entrance exam for various UG Courses (B-TECH/BE/B-ARCH/B-Planning). The Exam is conducted the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Under the HRD ministry to take admission in IIT’s, NIT’s and other Engineering Colleges. JEE Test is the largest entrance exam and more than 10 lakh Candidates appeared themselves every year for this examination.

Joint Entrance Exam is conducted in the two parts one is JEE main and other is JEE Advanced. Those candidates who successfully qualified the jee main exam are eligible to appear for jee advanced examination. Total 1.5 Lakh students are selected for JEE-Advanced Test. JEE Main 2017 Exam Pattern

IIT-JEEMain 2017 Exam will have two papers – Paper1 and Paper 2. The Jeemain exam Paper 1 will have questions from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry while Paper 2 questions from Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing test. There will be three section in each other and Negative marking will also occurs of ¼ per wrong question.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce the JEE Main Result 2017 on April 27. Candidates who had appeared for the exam can view their results on the official JEE main website. The declaration of JEE (Main) Paper -I Score and top 150000 candidates eligible for appearing in JEE (Advanced) will also be announced on the same day. The All India Rank can be checked in July 2017 based on score calculation of JEE Mains and Board marks.

JEE Mains exam was conducted in April in pen paper based format while the online exam of JEE Main held on April 10, 11. Around 13 lakh students appeared in the JEE Main exam this year, out of which only 1.5 lakh students will be shortlisted for the advanced round.

The IIT JEE Advanced exam will be conducted in May. JEE (Advanced) 2017 (Paper 1) from 9 am to 12pm while paper 2 of JEE Advanced is scheduled on 2pm to 5pm. The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2017 [JEE (Advanced) 2017] is conducted by the seven zonal Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2017.

The results of the JEE Advanced will decide on the number of candidates who will be admitted to undergraduate engineering programmes offered by all 16 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad. Those, who clear JEE Main exam, but could not clear the advanced round, can seek admission in other private engineering colleges in India based on their All India Ranks (AIRs).

What should be Age limit for JEE Main 2017?

General Category Candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1990 to be eligible for JEE Main 2017 and SC/ST/PwD Candidates will have a relaxation of the upper age limit by 5 years that means reservation quota candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1985.

Important Note about age: Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered.

How many numbers of Attempts?

Candidates can attempts only three times for Joint Entrance Examination. More than three attempts are not allowed.

What should be Pass Percentage Marks in Class XII (Intermediate)?

Candidate must have studied some compulsory subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Candidates must have passed their Class XII examination or other qualifying examination in the year 2015 or 2016/ Or who are appearing for Class XII examination in 2017.
